Then, When
Sons and Daughters Who See the Word of the Lord Live!
Those Who Remember Their Father, God is Faithful!
Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, the land I had sworn with uplifted hand to give to your ancestors. Ezekiel 20: 42
When the Lord brought back the Israelites into the land He removed them from, He is saying then they will remember Him.
First Ezekiel is speaking of the Exile to Babylon in 600BC.
The Exile most people have heard of because of the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den, where Daniel, Israel was in exile.
That when they return as nation, as they did 70 years after exile to Babylon, they would remember That God is Their Lord.
But this applies overall to the return of the Israel for their people today even.
For they have been gathered from all over the world, to be returned to the land that was promised to Abraham so many thousands of years ago.
And now we see that they have been returning to believe in the God of Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob again.
And Moreso as many are now coming to believe in the beautiful Jewish Messiah, who came to save all the Gentiles for the last 200 years—Jesus, Yeshua—that was prophesied through the life of Joseph.
At first, I thought, maybe they had to be back in their land to believe in their in God.
That I was thinking their faith is tied to the land.
But that would be saying the land had power.
Land, earth does not have power, only God does, through Jesus Christ.
And if we can only be saved in one location of the world, then all other people would have been doomed.
And that is not God or His ways.
For Jesus died to save everyone from every generation.
For I realized that God sent them into exile that they would remember that the Lord is the Lord again.
That in their lack of distinct homeland and culture they actually sought to know and worship the Lord more, at least in Babylon.
But them being back in their land, was and is tied to their faith. For them being back in the land is what has allowed them to see God is still active in their lives.
So when I wrote the beautiful land devotional, I realized, what God was showing us.
His personal attention, His personal movement, His personal direction in our lives, is what shows us that He is the Lord!
That When we see Him act on our behalf, is the Then we know He is the Lord, our Lord.
That When we see Him direct our path, Then we know He is the Lord.
That When we see Him heal our bodies, open doors we cannot open, close doors we cannot close, is the Then we know He is the Lord.
That When we see Him keep His word, fulfill the Promises He has given us, Then we know He is the Lord.
That their faith is tied to seeing God keep them a people group, and show up for them and fulfill promises for them.
Just like our faith is tied to us seeing God show up for us, keeping us as His people.
And we get the added bonus of seeing Him fulfill promises of His ancient peoples long awaited promises, that we be encouraged and strengthened in our faith that every other long-awaited promise—Jesus coming back and everything that affords us—is on the way.
May we know that we know that we know we will know that He is God, He is the Lord, by Him fulfilling the promises He gave us and those around us so long ago.
