Checks and Balances

Those Living in Divine Power!
Those Who Wield the Sword of The Spirit!

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought and make it obedient to Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 10: 5

Our Pastor is currently teaching everyone about the Holy Spirit.
I received Him as a wind when I was seven years old.
I had just been baptized by my father and my brother in the Guadalupe River.

And it took me way too long to realize that I had to know scripture for myself, not because it was what God wanted, but it was because it would grow the Holy Spirit in me giving me wisdom.
Wisdom of God truths,
Wisdom of Jesus’s heart.
Wisdom of what I was called to by Jesus.

Since I was given His Spirit at such a young age, I grew up living on experiences.
I read my Bible daily.
I went to church.
I actually had such a drive in me for the things of God.
I prayed wild huge faith filled prayers nightly as little kid.
For I was a second-generation faith-walker.
But I deeply needed to know as I grew up, that the Bible, God’s words, Jesus words, were the check in me, the check of my experiences, the check to know that everything I was experiencing was from God.

For I had discerning of spirits at such a young child.
And when I got older, I got to experience much much more.
It was there that I found that Jesus will never override, cross, or give me something that overrides His words, His directives, His commands.
It was there I found the right direction.
That knowing the word, obeying the word, would then bring the right experiences, the right opportunities.
And would protect me from the wrong experiences, the wrong opportunities.

That knowing the words of God, specifically knowing what Jesus said, how Jesus acted, what Jesus called me to do, would give me the discernment to know which experiences were truly God given.

So I could follow on the right path.
The path that Jesus, God were outlining for me.

For we are presented with opportunities daily, some from the Lord and some from the world.
And it’s the word of the Lord, that gives us the wisdom to glean which is which.

May we know that we know that we know the power we hold in learning scripture, especially Jesus’s words, God with us, God revealed to us God, God’s direct first-person directions on the best way to live.

May we know that we know that we know that Jesus fought the enemy of our souls with scripture, that we know the power of comparing His words to our opportunities, that we choose the one that brings the blessing to us and to those around us.

May we know that we know that we know Paul is correcting the Corinthian church to do this very thing, compare our thoughts, our actions, our opportunities to what Jesus said, thought, asked of us, that we live from victory.
