Directions, Doors, Good Plans

Those Who Will Walk in Wisdom!!
Those Who Hear From the Lord!!

Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home every one of you, for this is my doing. So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Jeroboam. 2 Chronicles 11: 14

Rehoboam was about to go fight against his people that left the kingdom.
And God intervened to give him this wisdom.
That this seemingly turn of events was from God.
That God was leading this situation.

For God is sovereign overall things in our lives.
Things that feel good and some things that don’t.

This was the hill I died on so often in my life, when I was younger.
I always used to think when I had something negative, a closed door, it was the enemy barring me from the good God had for me.
And that does happen at times.
But ultimately, I was giving satan more power in my life, than he has.

I have grown in my walk with the Lord over so many decades deeply learning to accept all things from the Lord.
Learning to trust what He says, over all my circumstances.

That a closed door can be a blessing.
For when He closes doors for me, it means He is actively participating in my life.
That He is actively leading and guiding me.
That He actively cares where I go, what I do, and where I am headed.

So when some big plans of mine changed suddenly this past year, it gave me the opportunity like Rehoboam to fight against this.
Or simply stew and get bitter against God.
Which would have made me miserable.

But really closed doors are just opportunities to look in different directions, looking for the open doors that we might not have noticed before.
It’s an opportunity for us to let God, really be God in our lives.
To choose to accept what God is doing and look out for the blessings.
Because I have learned He knows what I need and where I am headed.
Because He who made me knows what will satisfy me and bless more than I do!
And the more I have surrendered to this, the more I am able to surrender everything else to Him.
Because I always find, He is so much smarter than me, better informed than I am and so much better at providing what I need that will deeply fill me.

So when I received this opportunity of change in plans feeling just a little moment “of well now I’m missing out in both places”, I found God’s genius plan was better than mine.
That as I walked into His plan with blind faith, He did more than I would have received if I had the other plans work out.
That this seemingly change of plans was His way to get me where I was more needed.
That the first plans were just a place holder, a way to keep me from where He didn’t want me to go, so I wouldn’t miss out on being where I could help more, bless more people, and actually be more blessed through it.

May we know that we know that we know there is great wisdom in surrendering to God in the directions, the open doors and the closed doors He has for us.

May we know that we know that we know God made mankind for a purpose and He is more interested in getting us to it, than we are.

May we know that we know that we know God is good, and for us using every opportunity to show us that He offers us good, good blessings, if we would just trust and follow.
