Those Who Receive the Free Gift of Life and Life Forever!!

Everything is alright, Gehazi answered, My Master sent me to say, Two young men from the company of prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing. 2 Kings 5: 22

The story of Elisha constantly foreshadows Jesus' Christ’s life-the Messiah for All People (Jewish Rabbi-who saved Gentiles, too).

Elisha told Naaman the Syrian he would not accept payment from him, for the healing he just received from leprosy.
But Elisha’s servant decided to sneak off and go get payment from Naaman, anyway, silver coins.

This is more foreshadowing of Jesus the Messiah.
For He was betrayed for silver, by Judas one of His disciples.

But in this story, the bigger meaning about this payment issue, we see that God/Jesus don’t want payment for our healing.

That they weren’t expecting payment for our healings, that it is a freely given gift.

Elisha didn’t want Naaman the Syrian to think healing was just an economic exchange.
But that is was a free gift from God to Him.
Because he wanted him and the rest of us to know that God gives us healing freely (physically but more so eternally).
Because He wanted us to know that God loved Naaman and wanted Him to be His forever.
Because God wants us to know that He loves us and wants us to be His forever.

Because when Jesus came in the flesh, we find that Jesus already paid for our healing on the cross.
That it was paid in full by God Himself.
That now we can just receive our healing, a gift freely given by God to us.
That our eternal healing has already been paid for by Jesus, so no payment is needed, no sacrifice for us on the cross, no wrath needed to be suffered by us, because of Jesus and His actions already.

When Jesus came in the flesh, He told us that we would be given the Holy Spirit —like the disciples—to bring healing to the sick all around us and that we are to give it freely.
For freely we received, freely we give.
For He wanted us to know, that He offers all people healing for free.
That we can’t pay for it.
That it can’t be bought.
That it was already paid for.

May we know that we know that we know our eternal healing, our reconnection to our Father, that gives us life beyond the grave with Him forever, has already been paid for by Jesus Christ on the cross.

May we know that we know that we know God offers us all healing, now and forever, in our bodies, in our minds, in our hearts and for all time, freely—no payment required!!
