The king also desecrated the high places that were east of Jerusalem on the south of the hill of corruption-the ones Solomon king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the vile goddess of the Sidonians, for Chemosh the vile god of the people of Ammon, for Molek the detestable god of the people of Ammon. 2 Kings 23: 13
King Josiah was having to clean up corruption that king Solomon placed in his country.
He had married many many wives and they were not followers of God.
So it lead Solomon to allow and even set up worship to false gods, demons.
It led Solomon away from God, His Maker, His Father, The Only God.
It led Solomon to lack, to lose partly and miss out on having a continued intimate relationship with the Master of the Universe.
In my life when I was young, I fell in love with a unbeliever overseas.
In my naivety, I thought that this faith in Jesus is the only thing he lacks.
God told me to leave, to go home, that He had something, someone better for me.
At the time I didn’t know how our faith is the core of who we are and though I knew not to be yoked with unbelievers in marriage, I didn’t know the implications it would have on my life, my heart, my relationship with God, and my life trajectory.
If I hadn’t obeyed God and left, I wouldn’t be who I was supposed to be, a strong faith filled Jesus led woman leading other to Jesus Christ, setting them free from lies of the enemy, setting them free in their hearts and minds and bodies with God’s truth.
If I hadn’t obeyed, I wouldn’t know this greatest joy and satisfaction of fulfilling my purpose with God and I wouldn’t have seen all these I know and love around me, coming to the truth of Jesus Christ too.
Solomon was one of the wisest men to walk the earth.
Yet he disobeyed God in this.
Not only did he suffer but all his people suffered.
When we believe, Christ becomes the core of who we are, how we make decisions, and what we decide.
May we know that we know that we know the value of following God’s ways in marriage, for God’s ways are meant to bless us and keep us on the path of life, to Him and life eternal with Him.
May we know that we know that we know that we know that even the wisest of us have failed at times, like Solomon.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus died for every mistake we made.
May we know that we know that we know there is great value in following God protecting our hearts, so that we stay on the best path, being able to lead everyone else, to Him, to the life without death, with pain, without suffering, and saving people from the eternity of fire.
May we know that we know that we know, there is no greater gift that we can give to ourselves other than obedience to God’s ways so we can fulfill our God given destinies, the deepest longings in our soul being met.
May we know that we know that we know God is merciful, if we have fallen in this way.
May we know that we know that we know, God does not condemn us but keeps encouraging us to come back to Him, follow Him, wooing us back to Him in love, that we would be renewed and those around us, that all would know Him, His love and His forgiveness.
May we know that we know that we know, if we were saved after marriage or married unequally, He is bigger than our decisions and loves us and can and will call those around us to believe, too.
