Love Language!!

Those Who Are Known By Jesus!!
Those Who Become Led By The Good Good Shepherd!

Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father and I too will love them and show myself to them. John 14: 21

When I read this I think about the love language quizzes.
That there was Christian psychologist who theorized that people need love through five avenues:
Quality time, physical touch, words of affirmation, gifts, and acts of service.
But none of the ones he mentions is obedience.

Yet it seems that God/Jesus are telling us how they want us to show we love them.
And it’s obedience.
Obedience to believe what He says is true.
Obedience to do what He says we are to do.

For the first obedience we do, that shows we love God-Jesus- is to believe He is who He says He is.
Which means we believe that He is Lord of the Universe,
Which means we believe that He is the only way to be saved.
Which means we believe that He really did die for mankind.
That we receive His perfect obedience for mankind’s disobedience in Eden.

Now I want to clarify something.
I got saved at 7 years old.
And I just knew that if I asked Jesus into my heart, that I wouldn’t go to the bad place, but the good.
And I wanted to go to the good.

So I know when I explain this obedience as an adult to others, I’m giving lots of extra information.
I’m doing this because I have learned in this long life of walking with Him, these details.

But I want to clarify that this first obedience, is a leap of faith.
That we don’t have to know all the details or believe perfectly.
We just have to obey and ask Jesus to be our Lord in some way.

Then we start acting like it.
And in that obedience, He looses more and more of this truth, His truth inside us.

For He needed to tell people to obey Him, that we be blessed.
For He is our Maker.
He knows what we need better than we do.
He knows that the enemy has turned this world upside down, making us believe lies about what is good for us.
So He has to tell us that our obedience blesses Him, even though really it is to bless us.

For in obedience to Jesus’s ways we have more peace.
For in obedience to Jesus’s ways we have more health.
For in obedience to Jesus’s ways we have more wisdom.

May we know that we know that we know the first obedience-to call on Jesus, asking Him to be our Lord- is what brings us salvation, entrance into God’s forever family, where Jesus enters into our hearts and minds and lives and begins to live with us.

May we know that we know that we know the obedience we do after calling on Jesus-by obeying Jesus’s ways, directives- brings us all we had been seeking from the world, peace, joy, health, wisdom, confidence in our future and an ever faithful providing Father in the closest relationship to us, that will last for all time.

May we know that we know that we know once we have called on Jesus’s name, asking Him to be our Lord, He gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to want to obey Jesus, and empowering us to see the wisdom that this obedience offers.
