Meat and Bread

Those Who Move From Grumbling To Awe and Wonder in Radiant Praise!
Those Who Will Know the Lord And See His Glory!!

I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites, Tell them, at twilight you will eat meat and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God. Exodus 16: 12

Then you will know
Then…
When??
When He supplies your needs.
When He shows up and helps you.
When He provides for you.
That is when you will know He is the Lord.

He is literally telling the Israelites that it is in His provision for them in miraculous and steady ways, meeting their needs, that they will realize, Know, He is the Lord.

So those of us who have come later get to see this,
God’s wonderful provision for the Israelites in the wilderness.
They ate manna, bread from Heaven everyday for 40 years.
He supplied them meat in a desert, right up to their door.
He was there always providing.
Showing them every day that He provides every day.
Which gives us proof, that He will do this for us.
And in Him showing up, providing for us, meat in the evening and bread in the morning, we will know that He is the Lord too.

Beside the proof that God is faithful to provide for His children what we need when we need it daily, faithfully forever,
There is a deeper meaning in this as well.

This is an allegory of Jesus.
God mentioned the meat first.
That it is offered in the evening.
Which is a foreshadowing of Jesus being sacrificed on the cross in the evening for the sins of mankind.
His flesh crucified for humanity to pay for the sins that began at Eden.

Then God mentions bread in the morning.
For Jesus came out of the tomb, rose again to life, in the morning.
So this bread is Jesus’s body broken for ours.
That we eat this bread, His body broken.

And this is given to us daily.
For His sacrifice covers us, saves us daily from the moment we believed until we go to be with Him face to face.

May we know that we know that we know that God was foreshowing for them and all people Jesus Christ’s death and His rising to life again, that we would know that we know that we know Jesus Christ is the Lord, the Savior of All mankind.

May we know that we know that know when we or anyone else receive this offering, Jesus’s payment, Jesus’s suffering for our sinful nature and His miraculous revival to life again, that we will be fed daily and nightly, With Him, His forgiveness, His holiness, His eternal healing, forever.

May we know that we know that we know if God supplied His Son, the Messiah to feed us life, salvation, through His death and resurrection, how much more will be provide for us, today, the things of life that we need, too.
