The Only Thing Needed!

Those Who Get to Live In Joy!
Those Who Found The One Thing That Brought Them Everything Else!

Martha, Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her. Luke 10: 41-42

Jesus is givng us the key to salvation in this everyday life experierce.
Martha is worried about the party.
She is taking care of the needs of everyone around her.
And she gets exhausted.
Which is what happens to all of us when we are trying to do, to prove our salvation.
She is focused on the here and now.

We are called to love, and produce and take care of others.
Jesus isn’t telling Martha not to take care of people.
But He is trying to get her to focus on the bigger picture.
He is trying to make her feel better but also point her to the truth.
The truth that we all need to know.
That all this stuff we are doing in this life isn’t what brings us eternal life.

That only one thing is needed!!!
Mary is sitting with Him, learning from Him, getting to know Him and His thoughts.
Mary is receiving Jesus Christ as the Messiah, Lord, Savior.
The Only Thing that is needed—for salvation-life with forever.
Mary was focused on Jesus, seeking first God’s Kingdom.
And then everything else was added to her.

For this is the one thing that is needed.
The rest is that we get to do.

In our joy, of knowing we will live forever, we get to help others, with His strength inside us.
In our joy, of knowing we are part of God’s family forever, we get to serve others in hopes they will believe and become family, too.
In our joy, of knowing we are saved forever, that we did not earn, we get to love on others and tell them the way to salvation.

May we know that we know that we know, there is just one thing we must do to be saved.

May we know that we know that we know, if we have done this, our salvation is set, we are saved forever.

May we know that we know that we know, after that, everything else is just what we get to do to be a blessing to everyone around us.
May we live that we live that we live in the freedom that this knowing brings, that Only One Thing is Needed!!!
