Peace-Speaking Peace
Apostles Appointed by the Lord
Those On the Most Valiant Mission
If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them. Luke 10: 6
Jesus was telling this to His disciples as He sent them out to preach the gospel and heal the sick. It was the beginning of the gospel being spread further through others, not just through Jesus.
That He was making a way for them to be provided for, their physical needs taken care of by those who they are leading to Christ. For Jesus-who is God-promises to direct our steps. So as they were taking care of people’s spiritual emotional and eternal needs, God would provide for their physical needs, through those they were helping.
Jesus told them that when they enter a space, if there is someone who is either a believer or receptive to being a believer our peace, that as they speak peace-- the gospel, the truth—it will find them and unite them.
Jesus was making disciples, training His people for the new mission of their lives--leading people to the truth of Christ, to be saved.
So not only does He show us through this scripture that as we seek first His kingdom, all that we need is being added but He was also teaching them and us, that Holy Spirit-who is our peace our unity with God--was spread through speaking to others about Jesus Christ.
For to promote peace that Jesus is mentioning, is to be someone who promotes peace with God. Someone who is seeking God’s Kingdom, seeking and teaching others how to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Just like God did for them, that as we speak the words of Jesus, His truth, leading others to be in peace, live in unity with God, through Jesus’s sacrifice, it will find those who are going to hear and be saved.
May we know that we know that we know as we speak, God’s Spirit goes ahead of us.
May we know that we know that we know as we follow along on God’s path, His missions for our lives, He will make provision for all that we need.
May we know that we know that we know the power of speaking the truth of the gospel, that the mere words being spoken will bring the truth and salvation to others around us.
May we know that we know that we know, that we just have to obey and His words open the way.
