Praising Him

Those Who Will Sing the Lord’s Praise!
Those Who Find He Has Been Good To Us!!

But I trust in your unfailing love, my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for He has been good to me. Psalm 13: 5-6

David was the king of encouraging himself in the Lord.
If we only look at this end part of the psalm we feel so encouraged.
And yet the whole rest of the psalm, is David bemoaning his circumstances.
He is full of sorrow in his head.
He is being hunted literally by enemies.
But he determined to encourage himself.
He chooses to speak life over himself.
He chooses to speak faith over himself.
He chooses to trust God and believe in His faithfulness regardless of the painful circumstances he finds himself in.

Psalms is the longest book in the Bible.
And I don’t think that is by accident.
I believe that it is constant reinforcement of what God wants us to do.

When we are in the pits of this life, sorrows, hard circumstances, He wants us to speak life over ourselves.
He wants us to trust Him through the hard feelings, the hard times.
He wants us to trust that He is faithful no matter what is happening around us.

David did see great blessings in his life.
God did fight his enemies.
God did change his circumstances.

And through all the hard moments, He go to have peace, through recognizing God was bigger, better, kinder, stronger than his situations.

May we know that we know that we know, as we praise Him through our storms, we will be encouraged, filled with peace and joy and confidence no matter the waves, the wind, or any other circumstances we find ourselves in.

May we know that we know that we know, God is faithful and will change our circumstances bringing us good and our promises to pass.

May we know that we know that we know, we can turn our hearts and minds around just by praising the Lord, and choosing faith.
