You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too hard for you; you cannot handle it alone. Exodus 18: 18
Moses is fielding all the debates, issues, and conflicts and teaching all the Israelites, God’s ways.
His father-in-law has arrived and observing all that was taking place.
And he is giving Moses advice.
And it’s prophetic.
For he speaking the truth that God revealed to Adam for all mankind in Eden.
That mankind needs a helpmate.
That the work is too hard for us.
That we cannot defeat the enemy of our souls by ourselves.
He is prophesizing our need for the Messiah.
That we needed a Savior to be able to save us from the fallenness of this world.
That we needed a Savior to be able to save us from our Adam and Eve hearts of disobedience against God.
That we needed a Savior that was able to live a life with a perfect heart, perfect mind, and perfect actions, to defeat the enemy of this world.
This is the work too hard for us.
That we could never have accomplished this on our own.
He was also prophesizing our need for the Holy Spirit helpmate that will come to live inside us when we receive our Savior’s perfection for our imperfections.
That we needed His Perfect Spirit to come live inside us giving us the want to follow God and His ways.
That we needed His Perfect Spirit to come live inside us that we be given the ability to follow God’s life-giving ways in this life.
That we needed His Perfect Spirit to come live inside us that we be given His heart, His mind, His desires, His vision, His strength.
That we needed His Perfect Spirit to come live inside us that we be given His completed works on the cross, that we live forever in His Kingdom.
This is the work too hard for us.
May we know that we know that we know God was showing us through the Israelites all of humanities need for a Savior and His Perfect Spirit, that when it was offered, we would all receive Him.
May we know that we know that we know receiving Jesus Christ-the Messiah-the Savior, what He did on the cross, will give us everything we need, for eternal life and everything we need to be able to follow the One True God, our Heavenly Father in this life into the next one.
May we know that we know that we know God wanted us to know that it was too hard for us, impossible for us to achieve that we simply receive this wonderful perfect beautiful offering from our Father, not only to know how much He truly loves us and had made provision for all that we needed before we knew we needed it, but also that we not spend our lives striving on an mission we can never achieve in our own right.
