LOVED
Sought After Loved Ones!
Those Who Find The-There is No Greater Love Than This!
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often, I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Luke 13: 34
I had just received some news that someone who I loved doesn’t love me back, right before writing this.
And that they are still not on the same team with me.
Sobbing desperately, I grabbed my Bible to be faithful to what God has called me to do.
And I’m constantly amazed at God’s loving hands and His detailed provision for me.
For whenever I had to rush to put my Bible down earlier on my coffee table to take care of the massive water spill all over the floor, half of the Bible’s pages got bent over.
So when investigating my Bible to write a devo, the index of LOVED was the section that was bent over folded onto Luke 13.
And I thought Wow God.
Here I’m being rejected in such a deep way.
So many years praying and believing.
And not only does God give me a whole index of I’m loved, I’m Loved, I’m Loved more than I can count.
Then I see the pages that were revealing Jesus’s rejection by His people when He walked the earth.
And God just revealed to me, this is how Jesus feels.
That His love for Jerusalem, His people is so huge, so deep.
That He longs to cover them, to hold them, to keep them safe, to provide for them.
But that like me His heart is broken by their rejection His Love, rejection of His offering of provision, rejection of Him.
That like me He is weeping for His people.
His heart broken knowing that He offers what they need and will bless them so, now and forever.
And that rejecting Him will cause them to suffer forever.
It just gave me greater insight into God’s, Jesus’s heart for all people.
How deeply and desperately He wants them to be saved.
How it breaks His heart when people turn away from Him.
Just how madly deeply all consumingly He loves them.
Just how madly deeply all consumingly He loves us.
May we know that we know that we know the depth of love of Jesus for each and every one of us today, tomorrow, and forever.
May that deep all-consuming love prompt each and every one of us to receive all that He is and Has for us.
