Saved From Fires-We Choose

Those Who Hear the Word and Believe!
Those Who Chose Life and Life in Abundance!

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from your majesty’s hand. But even if he does not we want you to know, your majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. Daniel 3: 17-18

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, is a story of courage of faithful men who obeyed their God and saw their God protect them, and deliver them from a painful death.

They got to see God show up for them in their day and see that God cares and delivers His people.

But this is more than a history lesson for us to see that God delivers His faithful people, from literal fires, literal disasters.

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego is the story of all of us, too.

We might not ever have someone above us who tries to make us bow to a statue.

But this story is here to teach us, that all of us will have to choose in this life.

That everyone of us will have to decide who and what will we bow down to in this life.

And that it determines where we go, for the life to come.

Shadrach and His men didn’t bow to the golden idol of this pagan king.

We all have a pagan king to contend with in this life too, the devil.

He is the king of all kings of paganism, wanting us to worship him, or at least worship the idols he tries to get us to bow down to in life.

While in our present day in America we don’t literally bow down and worship statues,

We all can make an idol of worldly things in this life, whether it is relationships, or job titles, or bank accounts, or work.

But God is showing us through this story that that those of us who choose to make God, the only God in our life, those who do not bow down to the pagan world system through receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, that we will be saved from the fiery furnace yet to come, the second death, the burning lake of fire.

May we know that we know that we know, God offers saving through Jesus Christ, to all people, no matter nation, culture, or location.

May we know that we know that we know, we can all choose to obey and be saved from the fiery furnace to come.

May we know that we know that we know that we have a God, who already made provision for us to be saved, that we can choose to follow Him, instead of any golden idols this world offers and be saved forever.
