United Hearts, Minds, Futures
Those Who Choose To Speak The Same Language!!
Those Who Receive The New Heart, The New Spirit, His!
My prayer is not for them alone, I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. John 17: 20-21
Jesus is praying.
He was first praying for His disciples.
They were the first people to believe in Him.
They followed Him.
They were taught by Him.
Then learned from Him.
Then He starts praying for us.
Praying for anyone and everyone that comes to believe in Jesus after them.
Those who heard the apostles (first disciples) preach.
Those who have heard what they wrote in the Bible.
Those of us who have chosen to believe.
He is asking that we would be made one.
Just like He is one with the Father.
So what is He asking?
Jesus was completely in unison with God.
Meaning Jesus and God had the same goals.
Meaning Jesus and God had the same heart.
Meaning Jesus and God had the same hopes.
Meaning Jesus and God had the same sorrows.
Meaning Jesus and God had the same joys.
For they had the same Spirit.
That Jesus would accomplish every task He was called for.
The act of living perfectly.
The act of showing us the best way to live.
That act of choosing to give up His life.
The act of taking it up again.
Which loosed forgiveness for all mankind on earth.
That now we can all choose.
This was their oneness.
And it is what Jesus is praying for us.
That we as followers of Jesus have the same goals.
That we as followers of Jesus have the same heart.
That we as followers of Jesus have the same hope.
That we as followers of Jesus have the same sorrows.
That we as followers of Jesus have the same joys.
That we would have the same Spirit.
That we would accomplish everything He has called us to do.
While we have different roles from each other in this life,
We are to be unified under Him.
With His goals that all people get saved.
With His heart for people that they all know His love.
With His hope that they all choose Him, choose to be forgiven, choose to be saved, choose to be redeemed.
With His sorrows for those hurting, for those lost, for those who refuse to accept His free gift.
With His joys for those who receive this gift and enter into the Promised Land of God’s Kingdom.
This is only possible by Him.
So Jesus is actually asking that God would loose His Spirit, Jesus’s Spirit, The Holy Spirit down to us.
That this is what makes us one.
That this is what gives us all the same goals, same heart, same hope, same sorrows, same joy, this unity.
That we can see in Genesis, at the tower of babel, people were unified.
And in this, we are told that nothing they plan to do will be impossible.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus offers us His Spirit, that we become one in His mission, on mission, with all the other people who have chosen to follow Him, that nothing we plan to do for His Kingdom will be impossible.
May we know that we know that we know being one with Jesus and other believers is more than just a goal or a mission, but a blessing, that we would be filled full with His love and His wisdom and His truth that never perishes or fades, that is renewed daily and nightly, uniting us with His love in all the others believers across this world.
May we know that we know that we know being one with Jesus unites us with other believers, that serves to give us a forever family, a support system here and now, that serves to help fill in the gaps, of wisdom and knowledge as we grow but also when we can’t, when we are going through trials, when we are hurting, when we are in need, a support system, that will last for all time, forever fixed in the Kingdom of God, Jesus’s Forever Eden, our new home, our new hope, our new Lord, our new future.
