Wrath Paid For

Those Who Cry Out To God For Mercy!
Those Who Find It In Jesus Christ!

Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. Jonah 1: 4

The Lord sent the storm.
For Jonah was in rebellion.
But this storm was part of the plan.
Jonah was called to a great purpose!
Jonah was going to have a great part in the history for the world.
Jonah was to be an allegory of Jesus Christ!
Jonah, his life, was to let us know that our Messiah was going to choose to be cast unto death, to save us from the storm of God, the wrath of God, to pay for mankind’s rebellion against God.

The sailors kept calling Jonah innocent.
But Jonah wasn’t innocent.
He was in rebellion.
This is our clue to know this is about Jesus!
For Jesus, is the only One who Was and Is, Innocent in this life.

Jonah was thrown overboard by sailors during this storm, the storm that came due to Jonah’s rebellion.
But they only did it because Jonah told them to.
For Jonah knew that his death, his sacrifice, would appease God’s wrath, to stop the storm, for the rebellion.

The sailors who threw Jonah into the water to die for them, all had called on different gods first.
This is a sign to the Hebrews, that God was going to call all the pagans, the Gentiles into His Kingdom too.
For the sailors, all repented and believed when the storm subsided.

God allowed Jonah to be swallowed by a big fish.
He was then in the belly of a fish for three days and three nights.
God has the fish spit Jonah out alive.
Jonah then goes to lead people to turn to God, saving the pagan city of Ninevah, preaching and teaching the truth that these people would be saved.
Jonah preaches for three days.

Like Jonah, Jesus gives up His life, to save mankind from the storm, the wrath of God, that is still come.
That Jesus’s self-sacrificing death, paid for the rebellion of mankind, humans having turned away from His ways, His commands, at Eden.

Jonah preached to Ninevah that a fire from above is coming, a new wrath from God in the form of fire.
That as they turn to the One and Only True God, that would be saved from it.
Ninevah does turn to the One True God and is saved from the wrath of God.
This was to show us what the Messiah was going to teach us too.
For Jesus sent us His disciples and the Holy Spirit to come and preach to us, the whole world, all that we would be saved from the wrath that is still coming, too.
That everyone who believes Jesus and His sacrifice, like those in Ninevah, will be saved from the wrath of the fire that will be coming above, to the whole world, for the rebellion of mankind.
That this wrath is appeased by Jesus’s sacrifice, for those who believe in Him.

May we know that we know that we know that Jesus paid for the storm, the wrath that is still to come on the world—due the rebellion of mankind by Adam and Eve in the garden at the beginning of time—proved to us through Jonah’s experience.

May we know that we know that we know if we believe and receive Jesus Christ’s payment for our born into hearts of rebellion, we will then be free from ever receiving the great wrath of God too, like Ninevah and these sailors, being saved from eternal death that is still to come.

May we know that we know that we know God shows us all this, that we would believe and receive this offering, His protection, His provision, His wonderful plan to save us all, all people, all nations, all tongues, Jew and Gentile, through the self-sacrificing death of His Son, Jesus Christ, Hebrew prophet.
