Always Alive!
Children of the Living God!
Those Destined for Paradise!
He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for to Him all are alive! Luke 20: 38
Jesus was talking to people who didn’t believe in the resurrection, that there was an after life.
They were trying to trap him in giving some big hypothetical question, trying to trap him with their logic.
But Jesus is God.
Jesus is the Maker of the Heaven and Earth.
Jesus created the laws of nature.
He knows everything.
So He kindly explains to them the truth of the ages.
That they would believe and be saved.
He explains that though we live in this broken world that contains sickness and disease, and that though our bodies are going to expire at some point, we are going to live onward somewhere.
He explains this through Moses and his experience of meeting God at the burning bush.
That God tells Moses He is the (current) God of Abraham, the (current) God of Isaac, the (current) God of Jacob.
Since those men had already passed from this life at the time God was telling Moses who He was, God was letting Moses know these men were still under His care, still worshipping God, just in another location.
And that is what Jesus wanted those people and us to know.
That all of us are going to another place, after our physical bodies expire on this physical planet.
That God is still sovereign over us and everyone else whether we are alive walking on this planet or in eternity.
Which opens up the door to ask, where are they.
The Bible tells us there are two places we can go.
One is complete separation from God and all He offers—love, health, healing, joy, peace, wisdom of the universe.
But for those of us who believe—for those of us who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior— we will be with God, Him, our Savior Jesus, walking and talking and worshipping, along with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the other people of faith that have gone ahead of us.
That we will be alive.
More alive than we have ever been, seeing our Maker face to face.
May we know that we know that we know when our bodies pass on from this life, we enter our new life, the real life and we are made more alive than we have ever been here.
May we know that we know that we know, if we believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, we will go to be with our God, seeing Him face to face, in the Kingdom that God had always designed for us to live in, in a place of healing, and peace, where death no longer exists, where we have new purposes, and new callings.
May we know that know that we know if we have had believing family or friends pass from this life already, we can know that God is still their God and they are with Him, full of joy, waiting for us to join them in paradise.
