Anything!!?
Children Who Find That His Goodness and Mercy Follow Us All Our Days!!!
Those Who Taste And See That He is Good!
You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it. John 14: 14
Jesus is speaking to His disciples.
He is letting them know their mission.
That He is leaving them physically, soon.
But He is telling them He is leaving them with provision.
That they can ask God, pray, petition, for anything, in His name.
People, Christians get hung up on this scripture.
Because on some level we have all been hurt, hoping for something that didn’t happen.
Or maybe we didn’t have the faith to ask for something we needed or wanted because of our world circumstances.
First I say, we are called to have faith like a child.
Children believe in unicorns, fairytales, and happily ever after’s.
So I choose to live in that faith.
When anyone asks for any prayer of agreement from me-unless it harms someone else-no matter how outlandish it is, I pray in agreement with them.
Because God is God and He gets to decide what is best for people.
Because God has lavishly loved me with decadent gifts at times in my life.
While I discovered there was a learning in them, they were also seemingly frivolous and extra.
Because God sometimes just wants us to know how kind and giving He is as we grow in much deeper relationship with Him.
I as an adult am aware Jesus was talking to His disciples about doing all the things that Jesus did when He walked the earth.
Since we can ask for anything in His name-which means-HIs purposes-His ways-what were His purposes, His ways.
Jesus knew the words of God and spoke them with authority near and far, with them coming to pass, leading people to believe in Him, in Heaven, in our Father.
Jesus healed every sick person, every paralyzed person, lepers, and even dead people that came to him or were brought to him.
Jesus miraculously multiplied food to feed people near and far.
Jesus called forth a gold coin out of a fish and brought forth miraculous catches of fish.
Jesus talked directly to God the Father.
Jesus came back to life after suffering death.
So we will do these things, as did His apostles.
For we are all called to surrender to Jesus, His ways, which is to bring forth everyone and anyone into the Kingdom of God.
That this whole corrupted world season of fallen mankind is simply a time for us to choose, where do we want to spend eternity.
—In the Kingdom of God with all health, all healing, all joy, all peace, in a renewed lush Eden with our Loving Father who sent Jesus to live a perfect life and then take our punishment, so we could be with Him, loved by Him and taken care of by Him forever?
—Or in eternal separation from all things good, from all love, from health, from all light, from all joy, in pain and suffering forever?
So we are called to pray—asking in His name—to ask Jesus for things that lead people into His Kingdom in this season.
But He is always showing us, that He cares about our today too.
For why would we want to go be with Him if we didn’t know He was good to us today.
May we know that we know that we know we can pray for anything in Jesus name whether in faith like a child for the wild extras or like an adult for the eternal needs, knowing He is God, and He is good and He answers and gives good gifts knowing what is best for His kids.
May we know that we know that we know the more He fulfils the daily, the wild, the frivolous, the more we realize what we really want is Him!
May we know that we know that we know the more we realize what we really want is Him, the more we lead others to want to know Him too.
