Better Back!!
Children Who’s Health is Restored and Wounds Are Healed!!
Those Who Are Repaid From What the Locusts Stole!!
All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring. Job 42: 11
Job lost everything.
The season he went through cut him back to nothing.
He ended up sitting in an ash heap, with only his life remaining.
He didn’t even have his health.
And as I wrote just this week, He didn’t curse God, but instead praised Him!
Job praised God for all the pain.
Job praised God for all the suffering.
Job praised God for all the loss.
Because he realized that God was bigger than his suffering!
Because he realized that God is God and can do whatever he wants.
Because he knew that God had allowed him to greatly prosper more than most right before this.
So Job was willing to accept suffering more than most.
Job didn’t know He was going to get to meet God through this.
Job didn’t know He was going to get to speak to God, voice to voice before this.
Job didn’t know He was being used as a forever example of what God wants from all humans, faithfulness in all circumstances.
Job didn’t know that He was doing exactly what God wanted, loving God because He is God, not just for what He offers us.
Job didn’t know He was getting to bless generation after generation by teaching us to worship and love God, no matter if our hands were full or empty.
Job didn’t know that even though he was losing all his worldly things, He was actually going to get to receive something so much greater, the Father of all Fathers, the Maker of all Creation, the Source of All Things Seen and Unseen, as His intimate personal conversation companion, being taught the mysteries of the world by Him directly!!
And after that, Job didn’t know He was going to get his extended family, his friends, his community to come and join in him in love, comforting him, blessing him, renewing his wealth of family, renewing his wealth of love, renewing his companionship and renewing his joy, along with renewing all his financial blessings, double what he had before.
May we know that we know that we know this is the test, the struggle we must all learn to do, Praising God no matter what our world’s looks like.
May we know that we know that we know that like Job, God allows, even brings, seasons, where we are separated in some way from people and things, so that we receive, find, and see God show up for us, coming down to us, that He become our intimate daily, conversation partner, too.
May we know that we know that we know God did this very thing for us already 2000 years ago, coming down, that all people gain God Himself as our intimate daily and nightly conversation companion, learning from God directly, when we just receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the truly blameless one, the One who received the greater most painful Job experience there was.
May we know that we know that we know when we have received this greatest blessing of our intimate companion, our eternal teacher, the wisest counselor and expert navigator of life and eternity, we then like Job will also get greater blessings back of community, of love, of restoration, of comfort, and of provision—but better and in the right order, of importance.
