Choice of Truth

Those Who’s Eyes, and Ears Have Been Opened!
Those Who Hearts Will Believe!!

I tell you unless you repent you too will all perish. Luke 13: 3

Jesus is telling us the way into eternity.
That all people have to repent.
To repent to turn away from the things of the world, and turn to the things of God, His ways.
Recently I met with a colleague and heard their world view.
They wanted to decide on their story.
That they wanted to choose.
That they wanted to live as good as they could.
That they weren’t interested in what happens after death.
And that if there was some rule they didn’t meet for eternity that they hoped their life would be considered worthy enough to be considered for the good to come.
The problem with that is that we might get to choose part of our story but we don’t get to choose the parameters of the story, the immutable truths of this life.

Just like we don’t get choose the fact that we need water to live.
We can choose how we ingest it, through bottled water, out of the faucet, or with added pieces like coffee grinds or tea.
Just like we don’t get to choose the fact that we need air to live and cannot last more than a few minutes without it.
But we can choose where we are breathing this air, outside, inside, specific locations, filing it with perfume, or food smells, or fabric softener or air filters to take away smells.
Just like we don’t get to choose the fact that we will need to use the bathroom at some point, or we would die.
But we can choose where we go, and what we use to go with.
Just like we don’t get to choose that there is gravity or that the earth rotates.
But we can choose not to jump out of planes without a parachute, or off bridges without a bungee cord.
Just like we don’t get to choose the natural storms that come in our lives or the spiritual and emotional storms that come.
But We can choose how to deal with them whether we find shelter, or put on the heater, or find solace in working out or prayer.
We cannot stop the sun from shining or the wind from blowing. But we can control the climate in our homes. most days.
We cannot control that sicknesses come and accidents.
But we can choose prayer and doctors.
We cannot control that at some point all people’s bodies will expire, although medical research is trying to stop this.
But all people will die at some point.
But we do get to choose how much life we put into our living.

We didn’t get to choose our birth families, the color of our skin, or where we were born.
But we can choose who we choose to love, we can choose who to let in our lives, we can choose our exposure to the sun, and we can choose our geographic locations for living.
We didn’t get to choose our natural abilities but we get to choose what skills we want to practice, to try to grow and enhance.

And we don’t get to decide what exists after this life, the places, that God has told us, that are our options.
But we do get to choose what place we want to go to.
We don’t get to decide what the requirements are to get to these places, but we do get to decide which we will obey to go where we want to go after death.

May we know that we know that we know the only way to the One place everyone would want to go, the place with God our Maker, the place where death no longer exists, where health and healing and peace reign, the place where we will have new purposes, new destinies, new challenges to accomplish, now being made whole, complete, with God’s eternal perfect Spirit inside us, is through receiving Jesus Christ, what He did in living perfectly (speech, actions and thoughts) and paying for the sins of Adam and Eve on the cross.

May we know that we know that we know we cannot change this fact but we can receive it, believe it and be saved forever.

May we know that we know that we know that no matter what we believed in the past, today is a new day and anyone and everyone can receive this truth today, and know that they are headed to the Kingdom of God forever.
