Comparing Scripture To Scripture!

Those Who Believe, Choose, And Accept, That His Plans For Us Are Good!!
Those Who Will Take Their Places At The Feast With Abraham, Isaac, And Jacob!!

For everyone who asks receives, the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks the door will be opened. Matthew 7: 8

This scripture is paralleled with Luke 11.
I have expounded on Luke 11 in devos and trainings.

Both of these scriptures guarantee a promise of provision from Jesus.
Both seem to say the same thing.
But they end differently.

Luke 11 ends stating that God will give the Holy Spirit to anyone who has asked.
But here we see that ending to this promise says that God will give good gifts to His children.

Everything in scripture is there for a reason, what He includes and what He leaves out.

The reason He tells us this version is for a couple reasons.

First that if we only ever get to read, or hear the book of Matthew:
That we would know our Father has good for us.
That we would know that our Father offers us provision, food, what we need.
That we would know that our Father offers us good gifts.

Because this guarantee compares these offerings to food, that people would have asked for.
Because this guarantee compares His heart in giving to us, to our heart in wanting to be generous to our kids.
Because this guarantee contrasts something we know no one wants with things we all would want and need.

That this promise, this guarantee, is that He will provide, that He will provide through Jesus, that He will provide good things for us.

But then when those of us who live today or back then that had access to the book of Luke to compare, we can see even more.

That we would know that our Father offers us His Spirit, a guarantee to anyone who asks, seeks, knocks.

So when we compare these scriptures together, we know so much more.

That we would know that our Father is telling us His Spirit is a good gift.
Because the only difference in these two sections on how they end, is the interchange of the words: good gifts and the Holy Spirit.

That we would know that our Father is telling us His Spirit is provision.
Because once again He is comparing this with food.

That we would know that our Father is telling us His Spirit provides us with good gifts.
Good gifts that we find are, power, love, sound mind, peace, skills, abilities to live through this life and to fulfill all our callings in this life.

Because in both these books we see Jesus anointed with the Holy Spirit.
Where He withstands against the enemy of mankind and wins.
Where He miraculously fasts from natural food past human abilities.
Where He heals the sick and paralyzed.
Where He brings health, healing, renewed minds, renewed bodies, renewed legs, backs, arms, to the oppressed.
Where He boldly speaks the truth to those in power.
Where He tells every one of the wisdom that only God, He knew.

May we know that we know that we know that since both of these scriptures guarantee this, we can have confidence in choosing Jesus, asking Him, seeking Him, knocking on the door to Heaven, that we receive all that He is, and all that He offers us, His goodness, His good provision, His Spirit, Him, the good gift.
