No Longer Outside The Camp
Those Who Find The Friend That Sticks Closer Than A Brother!
Those Who’s Eyes Are Opened To See They Are Being Held In His Righteous Right Hand!!!
Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the ‘tent of meeting”. Anyone inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp. Exodus 33: 7
All throughout Exodus, God is showing us what we need to live.
That there are all these seemingly harsh statements, that say, if we don’t have, if we don’t do, we die.
Because He is setting for us the reality for our need for Jesus.
That it’s only through Him that we can live.
That it’s only through Him that we will have life beyond the grave.
That it’s only through Him that we can stand, be, speak with, and know God our Father, our Maker.
So God is showing us through Moses having the tent of meeting outside the camp, our need for Jesus.
Because until Jesus came and lived in perfect obedience, then died in perfect obedience, and then rose again, people were not able, allowed to live in God’s perfectly holy presence.
So the tent was outside the camp.
But it shows us the blessing of when Jesus did accomplish all the feats for us, what a great blessing we were going to receive.
For now, when we believe in Jesus, asking Him to be our Lord, He literally comes to live inside us.
No longer outside the camp.
But intimately inside us.
He, being our new heart beating inside our chest.
He, renewing our mind with His thoughts, His hopes, His desires for our lives.
That we don’t have to go seek some far distant physical space.
We can simply speak to Him, right now in our homes, sitting on our chairs, walking into the grocery store, working at our workplaces, driving in our cars, or lying awake in our beds.
Any place, anytime, anywhere.
That is closer to us, more deeply connected to us, more present than any other human, creature, or thing.
May we know that we know that we know we don’t have to go outside the camp any more to find Jesus, we can simply ask Him right now to come into our hearts, to fill us with Him, that we receive the love, the wisdom, the whatever we are we seeking from the Ancient of Days, The Wiser Than Solomon, our Ever Present Help, The Lover of Our Souls.
