Elisha, Abundance-See Jesus-Yeshua
Those Who Eyes Are Constantly Being Opened to God’s Love!
Truth Seekers of God’s Kingdom Who Found the Hyper Portal to Life!
How can I set this before a hundred men? His servant asked. But Elisha answered, Give it to people to eat. For this is what the Lord says, They will eat and have some left over. 2 Kings 4: 43
For those who do not read what we Christians or Messianic Jews call the New Testament:
It is simply the Messiah revealed.
It is simply the Messiah fulfilling all that was spoken about Him, in the Tanakh, through the Law, Moses, the Prophets and Psalms.
I grew up with three older bothers. Two were right above me in age. Hence, I got to watch them play and learn about video games throughout my childhood.
And on my sisters and mom side, we were perpetually feeding our minds by solving mysteries, hello Agatha Christie and every author like her.
So when reading the Bible, the same mindset for me applied, searching for more, easter eggs, hidden spaces or hyper loops from Super Mario brothers, or like the red herrings in mystery books.
God wrote the Bible full of treats like these for all us truth hunters.
It’s why the Bible never gets boring.
On the surface it reveals the meaning to life, meaning of humanity and what happens after we die.
But then we get to dig deeper, seeing How each page tells us, individually who we are and how God loves us and how we really do need Him.
And while there is so much more to say about what the Bible teaches us about life, Him, the way to life, we find the more we read and look, everything, everything, everything is preparation to know, Jesus our Savior, to see Him through every page.
Which then for me at least, increases my love for Him because I see His detailed love for me, How brilliant He is and how kind He is that the Ancient of Days would spend so much time to show me who He is, that I would know Him, care about Him and love Him.
And that He is doing that for all of humanity, that we would all become His.
So when reading through Elisha, I see how He is preparation for us to see Jesus, the Messiah, the Lord to come.
So that when He did come to earth in bodily form that we would recognize Him and receive Him as Lord.
So we would be His, saved forever!
Just in this scripture, we see that Elisha is able to feed a large gathering of people off a small portion of food that would not have fed one person.
And we see, that not only does it feed more than hundred people but they have an abundance to eat.
God put this is Elisha’s life, that when Jesus the Messiah showed up, all would believe and receive Him.
For Jesus fed thousands upon thousands with a child’s lunch of bread and fish.
As an adult I can eat a double cheeseburger with fries and feel fine.
So this child’s meal-5 loaves of bread and two fish-would not in the natural be able to feed 5000 people full and then some.
But Jesus, who thanked God, and then multiplied the food that not only these people have more than enough to be full but God/Jesus supplied more than they wanted to eat and they had leftovers that they gave back, collected, basketful after basketful.
Because God is generous.
He is generous to us all His children,
That all the Jews who were waiting would recognize this similarity of Jesus to Elisha to know that He is the Messiah.
That all the Gentiles to follow would be able to look back and see His intricate preparation for us, wooing us, wanting us, all of humanity that we would part of His Kingdom too.
And that these in last days, that Gentiles would get to point all the Jews— whose people pointed all Gentiles to believe in the One true God throughout all of history—that we would get to point our Jewish family, leaders, the Priests of our God—back to their Jewish Messiah, pointing out how Jesus meets all that they were looking for through seeing Him in the pages of the Bible.
May we know that we know that we know the Bible never gets old teaches us new exciting learnings every day.
May we know that we know that we know these pages are God’s love letter to His creations, His children that we would hear and believe and receive all the love He has for us today, tomorrow and forever through Jesus Christ.
May we know that we know that we know we are called to tell everyone around us what we have learned about our Messiah, to everyone near and far, that they would see Him and believe in Him too, being saved for eternity, being filled with life, the life and love God has been trying to give us since creation.
