Disciples Who Have Seen Jesus’s Power Through Wildernesses!
Brothers and Sisters in Christ Who Will Receive and Fulfill Every Promise from God!

The tempter came to Him and said, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4: 4

The enemy came to tempt Jesus—God with us—that God allowed that the world would see that Jesus could stand against what we could not.
So that when we receive Him as Lord, we can stand against the enemy, too.
Because He is in us.

What it took me way too long to realize, until I experienced it myself, is that the tempter can tempt us with good things, even promises from God.

For Jesus is the stone, the rock uncut in Daniel that becomes the Kingdom that overtakes every other kingdom.
For Jesus is the bread of life, that as we eat of His sacrifice, we are fed eternal life.
So Jesus is the stone that turns to bread.
And the enemy was trying to tempt Him to bring it to pass right then.
But He could not do this out of God’s timing.
He still had to spread the gospel, to bring His words near and far, that everyone would eat of them too, and then climb up on the cross, to be turned into bread of life, from the stone that He was.

Jesus is modeling surrender to God, to God’s timing, to God’s order, God ways of bringing this promise to pass.

May we know that we know that we have a Savior that could stand against all the temptations of the world, that as we receive Him and His sacrifice, we can stand against the enemy, too.

May we know that we know that we know the power that it is to know God’s plans for our lives, that we would follow them getting to where God’s best plan plays out for our lives and for those around us.

May we know that we know that we know that if Jesus needed to walk around preaching the words of God before His sacrifice, that there is great power telling everyone around us what Jesus said while leading them to the cross to receive His sacrifice.
