Rivers, Water, Life
Refreshed Ever Youthful Ones!
Those Swimming in the Eternal Love and Wisdom of God!
He measured off another thousand but now it was a river that I could not cross because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in-a river that no one could cross. Ezekiel 47: 5
I was researching a study on blessings of water in the Bible.
As I live in Texas.
And water is such a blessing in our drought prone climate.
We have some amazing cold crystal clear rivers near me.
And this scripture just felt so luscious I couldn’t not share it.
Because I am imagining this crystal clear river, like the one that is spoken of in Revelation.
Indeed, these are the very same rivers that both Ezekiel and John the Apostle mention.
John states (in Revelation) that the source of this river is the Throne of God and of the Lamb.
And there are trees of life on either side of this river, that the leaves bring healing and there are twelve kinds of fruit produced every month.
And I went yes, This is the Holy Spirit.
He is the crystal-clear river of life flowing from the throne of God and Lamb (Jesus).
So often, because of Acts, I think of Him as wind or fire.
But all throughout scripture we find Him as the water of life, too.
He is like a crystal-clear river that we are drenched in from Heaven.
Pouring down to us, through us, to others.
And Ezekiel is telling us that He, God, Jesus, their flow of love, this refreshing life that is so ever flowing, abundant, that we cannot cross the width, it’s so big.
That He is so clear and pure that we can drink from it and swim in it, soaking up God’s wisdom and love overflowing, never exhausting the supply,
We can float in, jump in, and frolic in His Spirit, His Love, without abandon in His midst of life, being refreshed as only water can do to these war weary bodies.
This river, the Holy Spirit, God’s Very Own Love and Wisdom, lightens us, infuses us, refreshing us to the core of who we are.
I know that is why God made water feel so good to swim in.
For He wants us to swim in His fountain of youth, His Spirit, This River.
For He wants us to be His trees planted by this river that never worries in drought, never withers, but stays lush and green, our roots, planted in this stream, in this, His river of life, The Holy Spirit.
And the only way to access this river, today to be refreshed and see and literally swim in, in the future, is to receive Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice on the cross.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus offers us this cyrstal clear river, that will ever expire, never cease to refresh, never cease to supply to life.
May we know that we know that we know if we have Jesus, we can ask for more and more of this refreshment daily.
May we know that we know that we know if we don’t have Him yet, we can just ask and He will surely open the Heavens and pour an overflowing supply down.
