Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Daniel 6: 3
Yesterday I was talking to a runner down the road.
He hadn’t passed an exam.
He is a believer and was really upset.
I myself had been struggling writing yesterday.
Feeling lost.
Unable to figure out how to move forward.
Right before I met this man.
I had been reminding myself of God’s promises.
That Jesus is our sound mind.
That Jesus knows all things.
That Jesus created our minds, our brain cells, the electricity that makes our brains run.
That Jesus promised us a new mind, His mind.
That Jesus promised us His thoughts.
And He knows all things.
He knows why ants never stop working and where every single one is located.
He knows the speed that every single bird that flies and what gives them ability to fly, soar, and dive in the speeds that they do.
He knows how many molecules of oxygen make up each cloud that decorates the skies all across the whole planet.
He gave Daniel the ability to thrive in a foreign nation.
He gave Daniel the ability to speak the language.
He gave Daniel the ability to help run this foreign nation.
And He gave Daniel the ability to do it well, exceptional qualities.
I told this young man yesterday, that God is able to give him all the wisdom he needed to pass this test.
And since he didn’t, there was a good reason for it.
Maybe it was a timing issue.
That God needs him to stay a student a little longer to meet someone,
Or for the right job to open up,
Or maybe God wants him to go in another direction.
Or maybe just so me, a random stranger could show up and speak life over him, into him, that he know he was seen and loved by Jesus, the greatest wisdom we can ever learn.
For me, not being able to write, taking ages to finish one devotional, not being able to make a decision to move forward, there was a reason.
Maybe so I could speak to this young man feeling defeated myself.
Maybe because then I had to search to find a bunch of scriptures that promise wisdom-in everything-That I claimed over myself and him yesterday.
Or Maybe just so I would remember that it is the Lord who gives me wisdom to do all that He has called me to do.
For He gave me keen wisdom, brand new learned scriptures, to be able to pray over that young man and encourage him!
And everyone now to come after.
He gave me new understandings of humility and His timing.
He gave me new understanding of Him planning my day, filling it with the wisdom I really needed, at that moment, to help that young man that day, a timelier need, than a devotional that will come out and bless others in weeks to come.
And He gave me new understanding to work on my Bible study that afternoon that’s due in two days.
And He gave me new words and wisdom to speak life to a ministry partner that very afternoon.
May we know that we know that we know, Jesus the Creator, The Lord, God himself, lives in those who have chosen Him as Lord, and is able to teach us everything, giving us understanding in all things.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus has promised us, like Daniel, His wisdom and abilities, understanding to do all that has called us to do in this life.
May we know that we know that we know if we don’t have the wisdom and abilities we are seeking today, He is giving us wisdom and abilities, teaching us something else, that we need more, right now, whether we can see it yet or not.
