Those Who Choose To Become Children of the God Of Heaven!!
Those Who Put On The Royal Robes From the King of Kings!
You are sent by the king and his seven advisers to inquire about Judah and Jerusalem with regard to the Law of your God, which is in your hand. Moreover, you are to take with you the silver and gold that the king and his advisers have freely given to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem…Ezra 7: 14-15
Ezra is another wonderful foreshadowing of Jesus Christ.
For he was a Jewish man sent by the King to restore the one True God’s Kingdom in Jerusalem.
All throughout scripture, especially in the book of John, Jesus keeps explaining “He was sent” by God.
And God is the King of the Universe.
Jesus was sent by the King-God-to restore HIs-the One True God’s Kingdom on earth.
Then for Jerusalem-like Ezra—and here and now for all people, for all generations.
For God our Heavenly King sent Jesus to live a perfect life for us and then die as a perfect offering for us.
That we who believe and receive their perfect Kingdom of Light, Love and Life and Live forever with them.
The seven advisers is an allegory to the seven years that complete any type of Hebrew slavery or just the slavery of man.
That the seventh year the slave must be set free.
That all debts are paid.
Because Jesus came to pay our debts to God with His perfect obedience and then HIs perfect offering of sacrifice.
That Jesus was sent down to Israel—Judah & Jerusalem— to bring fulfillment to the law of God.
His sacrifice after living perfectly which fulfilled all the debts that mankind owed God, for our diseased hearts, given to us by Adam and Eve.
The silver and gold are to show that God is a King, the King that all Kings will worship and bow down to!!
They are also alluding to the silver payment that Judas received by betraying Jesus, bringing Jesus into his death.
So what we see is that Jesus like Ezra was sent by the King-God-to pay for the debts of the slavery of mankind to sinful nature.
That He would bring God’s way, life giving ways, to mankind like Ezra.
That Jesus, His Kingdom, the Messiah, will come through Israel, Jerusalem, a Jewish Son of God.
That His Kingdom is the Kingdom of All Kingdoms that all kings, all people, and all of creation will come and worship.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus really is the Way, the Truth, the Life to the Only Kingdom that will last and is offered freely to all people through Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice on the cross.
May we know that we know that we know if God has used very piece of scripture and every person in scripture to show us His Son, His ways, then we can know, there is no doubt that He is the only way to the One True God.
May we know that we know that we know God has done this out of His love for us, that we not miss out on eternity with Them and all the good they have planned for us, those who choose to accept this free offering of life forever.
