Our Helper-Our Understanding

Those Who Find The Helper Teaches Us All Things and Brings to Remembrance All that Jesus Has Said!
Those Whom The Spirit of Truth Lives, Dwelling With In Us!

So the other disciples told him, “we have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” John 20: 25

The disciples had seen Jesus after He rose from the grave.
And here they are telling Thomas.
But he doesn’t believe.

He is showing us a great principle here.
That we can’t literally give our faith to others.
That we can tell them what we have seen.
That we can tell them what we know.
That we can tell what we have learned and experienced.
But that each person needs to choose to believe for themselves.
That they need their own relationship with Jesus.
That they need to know Jesus personally, too.

But what’s so great about Jesus is that He knows this.
For He made the rules.
And He won’t stay satisfied with people living off other’s faith forever.
That He will come to them, to us.
That He will reveal Himself to them, to us, personally, too.

It’s like when my father went to be with Jesus.
I found that so many of my wonderful, all saved, all baptized family members had been living off my dad’s faith, my dad’s understanding of the Bible.

So the season when Daddy went to be with Jesus, was a new season for all my family to learn, to really learn to own their faith.
That it tested part of our understanding we had believed in, in general.
That this loss opened up our hearts to ask ourselves, do we really know what we think we know and believe what we really said we believed.
That this ministry is a product of my father passing.
For my sweet wonderful mother starting asking questions that prompted me to write definitive answers to bolster her and my and everyone else’s faith and understanding of Jesus’s wonderful truths that bring healing.

It’s what Thomas was going through.
He now had to decide what He really believed, now that Jesus was killed publicly before his eyes.

But what is so great in this story that as we read onward Jesus doesn’t make Thomas figure everything out on His own.

An He doesn’t make us figure out everything out on our own, either.

That like Thomas He comes to us.
He comes to us in form of the Holy Spirit.
He bolsters our faith.
He speaks to us of His love.
He points us to His words that encourage, that lead, that guide, that heal.
That He will speak to us personally, individually, building us up with what we need, that we be all He called us to be.

May we know that we know that we know it’s okay when we doubt.

May we know that we know that we know all people before us and after us, have.

May we know that we know that we know that Jesus knows this and has made a perfect provision for this, wanting each and every one of us, to walk in our faith, our relationship with Him directly being taught and loved by our Author and Finisher of Our Faith, Him.
