God used a Roman leader to vindicate Jesus.
Pilate was openly confirming that Jesus was innocent.
That Jesus didn’t deserve punishment
That Jesus didn’t deserve death.

That it was God who gave the enemy, the opposing nation insight that Jesus was innocent.
Because God wanted all people to know, for all time, that Jesus was and is innocent.
Because God wanted all people to know for all time that Jesus was the perfect sacrifice.
Because God wanted all people to know, for all time, that Jesus, His perfect sacrifice really does pay for our rebellious hearts.
Because God wanted all people to know, for all time, that anyone who receives Jesus and His perfect sacrifice, will then receive His perfect innocence too.
Because God wanted all people to know, for all time, how much Jesus did for us, that we would love Him back.
So God has Pilate openly confirm this fact.

May we know that we know that we know Jesus did nothing to deserve punishment.

May we know that we know that we know He bore all our punishment on His innocent body for us.

May we know that we know that we know that His payment for our punishment, gives us His innocence, His perfect heart, His perfect mind, His perfect reputation in the courts of God the moment we believed.
