The God Who Answers
Those Who Have Been Pointed to The Way!
Those Who Now Have Been Commissioned For The Greatest Purpose!
Then come and let us go up to Bethel where I will build an altar to God who answered me in the day of my distress and who has been with me wherever I have gone. Genesis 35: 3
The person speaking is Jacob.
He is leading His whole family to the One True God.
He is testifying that God, the Only God, is the One who shows up in our needs.
He is testifying that God, the Only God, is the One who Hears us, when we cry out to Him.
He is testifying that God, the Only God, is the One who goes with us and never leaves us, nor forsakes us.
He is testifying to His children that they would believe and know This God, the Only God, too.
Jacob had just had His name changed by God, to be Israel.
And His children, are the people who make up the 12 tribes of Israel.
Which then become the Hebrews, the people who make up the Jewish faith.
He is starting the example, what all the Jewish people do and did for All of humanity.
They lead us to see the One True God!
To see His faithfulness.
To see His ever present help.
To see His attentive love for us.
To see that He is the Father of All Fathers.
And now we, those who have seen, who can testify of the One True God, and His Son Jesus Christ, have the opportunity to be the blessing that Israel, the Hebrews have been to all generations of the world.
We get to show them, tell them, testify of the One and Only Son of God, Jesus Christ, Yeshua, has come.
We get to testify that He answered us in our day of distress.
That He has been with us, wherever we go.
For when we believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we received His Spirit and received eternal healing and family forever.
That Jesus Christ Himself came to live inside us.
That we have help in every distress.
That He literally walks with us—His heart beating inside us, His breath in our lungs, His thoughts becoming our thoughts—through every pain, through every attack, through every trial, through every scare, through every second of it.
That He goes with us, no matter day or night, at home or at work, outside, inside, driving or walking, sleeping or awake, walking with us, to the grocery store, to the school, to the hospital, to the party, to the pedicure place, to the gym, everywhere and anywhere.
And like Jacob, all of it leads us to worship Him, to love Him and tell everyone of Him.
May we know that we know that we know we have so much to be grateful for, from those who have gone before us, who’s testimony has led us to our Father and our Savior.
May we know that we know that we know now we have an opportunity in this season of life, to bless a people, who have blessed the whole world for generations.
May we know that we know that we know everyone needs this gift of Jesus Christ, our Messiah, the Only One who can save us from our distress, the Only One who can go wherever we go today, tomorrow and into eternity.
