Those Who Rest on the Rock
Those Living in the Peace That Surpasses All Understanding!
Those Who Now Belong to the Eternal Kingdom of God!
When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. Genesis 28: 11
Jacob was on his journey to find a bride.
But first he found God.
He had put a stone under his head to sleep.
Stones are made by God.
For God is the Maker of Heaven and Earth.
And God shows us that His Kingdom is going to be built on a rock, a stone, cut from a mountain by Him.
So when Jacob lays on the ground, with his head resting on a stone, God is telling us, that his head, is now going to rest on God, the things of God, God’s ways, God’s plans, God’s going to direct him.
For God was showing us He was going to bring His Kingdom, the Rock of Jesus Christ, through the Jewish line, Jacob’s family line.
And God does.
God shows up in dream, a vision.
God shows up and reveals Himself to Jacob.
For Jesus Christ, is the stone of God, that God’s Kingdom is going to be (at that time) and is today, built upon.
For Jesus is the rock uncut by human hands, that takes out all Kingdoms before it, in the vision God gives King Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel.
A Kingdom that will grow stronger and larger, than any kingdom that has ever existed.
For the truth of Jesus Christ has covered the whole earth for generations.
That those who believed became part of the Kingdom.
A Kingdom that cannot be moved by time.
A Kingdom that cannot be stopped by political boundaries or geography.
A Kingdom that cannot be removed, taken away, or stopped by humans, wars, or even death.
A Kingdom that lasts for all eternity.
For it is led by God, the Master of the Universe, the Maker of Human Kind, The One Who Makes the Earth Spin and Light Burst Forth From the Sun, Moon and the Stars.
That like Jacob, God wants all of us to rest on this stone.
Resting and sleeping on the Savior of the World.
Resting on His work that Saved Us.
Resting on His abilities, His perfection, that gets us into This Kingdom.
Resting on His Finished Work on the cross.
May we know that we know that we know Jesus, our rock, has opened the way to the Kingdom of God for us.
May we know that we know that we know that as we rest on the rock of Jesus Christ we have entered This Kingdom.
May we know that we know that we know once we have entered, we have eternal life, forever entrance into our Forever Homeland.
