Under Our Care!
Those Standing Firm in the Faith!
Those Beng Restored and Made Strong!!
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must but because you are willing, as God wants you to be, not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 1 Peter 5: 2
Jesus gave us His heart and His mind.
Those of us who believe and have received Him.
His Spirit-His heart and mind-whose mission is lead us on God’s best path for our lives.
His Spirit-His heart and mind-to lead us to be more like Jesus every day.
So Peter is pointing us to this fact.
That we are called to live by our new hearts.
That we are called to live out of love for one another.
That all of us who believe, all of us who have anyone in our lives, we are over, we are called to love them.
That this is our motivating factor, loving people.
That then we are watching over them, supporting them, providing for them, like Jesus has done for us.
I find when I am doing things more out of duty and less out of love, it’s because I am less focused on my gratitude of what Jesus has done for me.
Which means I am not recognizing all the ways He has loved me.
Then I am living in lack of love myself.
Then I don’t have enough to give away.
May we know that we know that we know that the solution to be willing to be the good shepherds that we are all called to be, is to regularly recognize God’s goodness in our lives, that we be filled with His love and be the overflowing rivers of living waters that spill out to everyone around us.
May we know that we know that we know if we are filling ourselves up with, reminding ourselves of God/Jesus’s goodness, this overflow through us will bring Jesus to everyone around us.
May we know that we know that we know that this is truly the ultimate goal of this season of life, that all people see our Lord through us, in us, that they believe and receive Him as Lord too, becoming part of this Kingdom of life, love and joy, sealed for His courts, saved from death forever.
