He is Listening

Those Who Keep On Asking!

Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came to Him and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” Matthew 15: 23

There was a woman who came to Jesus that He would heal her daughter.
She was suffering under oppression from the enemy.
She kept crying out to Jesus pleading for help.
And we see here, He is silent.

His disciples wanted to send her away.
But she kept on asking.
So Jesus finally responded to her, basically telling her that He was first to heal the Jews, then He would come to the Gentiles.
But she kept pleading.

She wasn’t giving up, so great her love was for her daughter and so great in her belief in His authority, His compassionate heart, and His power to heal.

So Jesus, like in the story of the persistent widow that gets her answer, He answered her request.
Her daughter was healed.

Jesus was showing her and everyone around us, that God is always listening even when He seems silent.

Jesus was showing her and everyone around us, that He will turn and answer our persistent prayers.

And Jesus was giving us a bigger lesson, that sometimes we go through suffering, waiting longer for prayers, that God is allowing us to show out faith to those around us, that they would see our trials, get invested in our trials, that they then would get to receive and be part of a miracle that will most assuredly bring to pass.

That they see God really does listen and show up.
That they would believe He is the God who heals,
That they would see that God is the One who turns to those who seek Him.

And that our persistence is growing our faith in Him, stretching us, leading us to trust in Him, deeper than we ever had before, growing us in our relationship with Him our Trust in His words, His faithfulness, regardless of our immediate circumstances.

May we know that we know that we know He is always listening!!!

May we know that we know that we know He will turn and answer our prayer.

May we know that we know that we know we are a part of a much bigger plan, leading others to have the wisdom that we do—that Jesus is the Messiah, who saved us from our sinful nature—that everyone around us receive that truth too, and be saved.
