Refined and Holy

Those Dressed With Glory and Splendor!
Those Wearing God’s Handmade Garments!

So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Mark 15: 46

My sister studied fashion design at college.
She used to work for a big corporation designing clothes for their brand.
She has sewed all my life.
She and my mom used to make clothes for even the barbies she had.

I asked her about linen, how was linen made,
For this detail, the fabric choice, is in the Bible for a reason.

She told me that linen, has to be scraped, beaten, refined, over and over again.
That the beating of the reeds that it comes from, the repeated scraping that it endures, makes the fibers silky smooth.

I thought yes, like Jesus.
He suffered so for us, being beaten, scraped, whipped for us.
That all the sinful nature of mankind, be removed, from us.

Priests at the temple had special linen ephods (aprons-outfits) that God required them to wear, to enter the temple.
It was foreshadowing that all people, who get to enter God’s presence have to first put on holiness, refinement.
That we first must put on Jesus’s sacrifice, His covering for us to enter God’s presence.

That when we receive Jesus’s Christ’s sacrifice for our sinful nature, we have put on this linen, this refined, holy clothing of salvation.

And since Joseph was covering our Savior’s His body with linen, who had just taken our sins onto Him and paid for them on the cross, Joseph was alluding, showing us, that now, all the sin was gone.
That the payment for sinful nature truly was completed.
That Jesus, His body, was now covered literally and figuratively in the refined holiness that God was seeking to give all mankind.

May we know that we know that we know Jesus, His sacrifice really did pay for all the sinful nature of mankind at the cross.

May we know that we know that we know that we all need this linen clothing of refinement, holiness to enter God’s presence.

May we know that we know that we know this offering of Jesus Christ at the cross, His refinement, His holiness, is open to everyone, everyone who wants to live forever, everyone who wants to be reconnected back to their Maker, their Father, everyone who wants to be whole, everyone who wants to be filled with value, worth, wisdom and forever peace.
