Upwards, Downwards, All Points To Him!

Those Who Find That All of Creation Testifies of The Glory of God!!
Those Who Hear His Voice, Turn And Are Healed!!!

The cherubim had their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the cover. Exodus 37: 9

This is more detail on the ark of covenant.
The cherubim have their wings pointed upward.

When learning art in school, we were always taught to look at the line of the artwork.
Studying the artwork to see what the painter, the sculptor is really trying to tell us.
That we are to notice where our eyes tend to go, following the line, the direction placed in the artwork or sculpture.
So when reading this, I thought where does the art line point.

The wings pointing us upward
That we would think of God, Heaven, His Kingdom.

And the angels faces pointing downward towards the cover, in respect, honor, leading us to think of royalty and power.
That God is the King of all Kings, King of Heaven.
That angels bow to Him.
That we are to see this and recognize His authority, of Him and His Kingdom.

And here since these creatures have wings pointing to heaven, it would make us think of birds.

When Jesus walked around He spoke of wanting to gather His people like a hen gathers His chicks (Matthew 23: 37).
That He longed to cover them, hold them, love on them like a mother keeps her young close, embraced, and safe.

So when reading about the ark I see the love of our Savior.

For the ark was commissioned by God Himself for His temple.
That we would understand Him and His heart in a greater way.

That this ark is a promise of an All Powerful Kingdom, run by the God of Heaven-that even creatures with seemingly other worldly powers- obey and worship Him.

That He is offering us His tender motherly love, His mama bear protection over His kids, His promised closeness, His nearness to gather us up in His arms, keeping us safe in His Kingdom.

May we know that we know that we know God is always trying to communicate to us, through images, through stories, through His presence, to us His precious creations, how much He loves us, how much good He has planned for us, that we see this and receive Him and His perfect life giving ways, through Jesus and all He did to make us His for all time.
